Cafetería Industrial

Project of analysis, ideation, prototyping and layout of the responsive web of “Cafeteria Industrial”, a place in Poblenou that serves its owner as a stage to raise a universe of its own, where gastronomy merges with interior design, branding and creation.

The objectives of this work, made by students of the Master’s Degree in Web Design and Internet Projects Management, are to transfer the whole aesthetic and conceptual universe of the venue and to have the user always in the centre of all the decisions. The inspiration comes from a flat and industrial aesthetic. In addition, a surprise and experimentation effect was incorporated, with the aim of seeking new ways of understanding digital platforms.

Uiui

‘UIUI’ is a project that aims to create a social environment of trust where goods are loaned or hired based on a collaborative and social structure.

In world terms, around 50 million tons of electronic waste is produced every year. It has been estimated that on average each inhabitant on the planet produces 3 kg to 3.5 kg of technological scrap every day.

The aim of this project is to change how we think when it comes to a preference for buying cheap items or ones with a short life (disposables) through the creation of an electronic goods loan and hire community, which in future can be scaled up to include all types of goods.

Our project is based on the connection or synergy between two users:
one who has a temporary need for a specific item and the other who has this item and the intention of loaning it free of charge, or hiring it for a specific sum. All in an environment that ensures the objects against damage and/or theft.

Phenomena Experience

Phenomena is a cinema in Barcelona that opened in 2014. The cinema has the largest screen in Barcelona and features that hark back to classical 1950s cinemas, such as velvet curtains and a red carpet in the entrance.

We encountered several problems on the website so our proposal is a complete redesign focusing on renewing the user’s experience.

Our proposal incorporates the digital experience that users undergo in the Phenomena cinema by integrating digital and immersive elements with classical editing styles that expand and improve how we approach the different types of Phenomena users.

Meteocat

The aim of the project is to optimise user experience of the Catalan Meteorological Service website, Meteo.cat. The challenge was then to analyse users who were active on the website to get to know them and offer them a transmedia and versatile platform that adapts to their needs and that is in turn easy to use.

To meet these needs quickly and easily, an attractive, intuitive and practical environment is presented, one that makes full use of the available weather information to keep users continuously updated, and which in turn can be personalised to adapt to the requirements of each user individually.

Key points:
• Improve experience,
• Streamline the search process and results,
• Practicality.

Asamblearia

‘ASAMBLEARIA’ (ASSEMBLY) is a website platform that helps with all types of communities before, during and after a decision-making process, reducing the time for in-person meetings and setting guidelines for the process involved in taking more efficient decisions.

Les paradetes

“Les paradetes” (Market Stalls) is based on the aim of fostering the local economy through enhancing neighbourhood trade. The project seeks to bring the benefits of the local market to a greater number of consumers. It is presented as a website where users can find all the different shops in the same market, combining efforts to offer an online purchasing platform, therefore offering the best product, but avoiding the negative aspects such as queuing or the various physical transactions.

Whap

“Whap” proposes a tool to help with tourism for young people. The aim is to create a platform that aids both the planning and the management of group travel where the participants can decide on all the characteristics of the trip democratically. Along with this, the proposal also considers the possibility of aiding planning by including offers and suggestions based on location, prior decisions and the type of trip. The project name is the acronym for “We Have A Plan”.

Mission Helmet

“Mission Helmet” poses the challenge of designing a virtual space for knowledge about public space from a child’s viewpoint. The project proposes a creative journey through missions (proposed by professionals) and ideas (generated by children) that results in the materialisation of cities that are more suited to children’s needs and designed for the future. The platform is aimed at three main categories of public: children under 13, teenagers and young people over 13, and professionals such as architects and town planners.

Foodmap

“Foodmap” aims to provide quick and easy access to reliable information about dishes and ingredients from around the world. The project offers a global experience that covers the dissemination of valuable information by displaying it on a map, categorising the content by geographical region with gastronomic identity, analysing the culture, cooking habits and history of each region. The information offered by the project comes from the Bulli Foundation and is financed by the “freemium” concept; free but limited use or complete use following payment.

Voltio

“Voltio” is an app that monitors electrical production and the management of it in a domestic environment, including the management of energy and the digital interconnection of home appliances with the internet of things, integrating and simplifying its use. An app without any technicisms, that is easy to understand and that gets the most energy for your home, controlling your consumption. It helps you save by recommending the most efficient and economic options. Among other options, it suggests the best days and times to use the washing machine, consulting consumption statistics and predictions.

Signapp

“Signapp” is the result of redefining traditional signposting and combining it with new technologies, obtaining a simple and intuitive guiding system for enclosed complexes such as shopping malls, hospitals, airports and museums. Comprised of hexagonal digital supports that can be combined to give place to screens as large as is wanted, it works with a mobile app with which the user can interact, customising the signposting according to their interests, so that by moving their mobile close to the screen, it interacts by bluetooth and shows the route to take.

Orgee

“Orgee” is an experimental web platform that explores the possibilities of collaborative art, enabling artists, designers, students and aficionados to participate with each other in the works of art available, using digital or manual techniques and reinterpreting them in their own way, thereby generating an exponential multiplication of works. This proposal can be used to change the traditional creative paradigm, based on individual construction, by committing to a collaborative model that is inclusive and popular.

Gresca

“Gresca” (Fun) is an app that lists all the events held as part of Barcelona’s local festivals schedule and it also allows users to simplify and personalise their information search and adapt it to suit their tastes and interests with categories such as Performing Arts, Games and Competitions, Gastronomy and Fairs. Over 2,000 free festivals are held every year in Barcelona. This app allows you to find out in real time which ones are happening near you and check the information in a list or on a map.
