Mia

Jewels are, almost always, memories of our lives. They are the real and tangible witness to our own personal and unique history and as such, we want them to be with us forever. Because of this, the jewellery case has been created so that all of these memories are kept with us.

‘MIA’ (MINE) emerges from the aim of creating a first self-produced piece using laser-cut metal plate. With a hinge design created by the actual cut of the metal, this jewellery case combines aesthetics and technicality, so creating a clean and integrated design.

Lofty

The revolutionary ironing system that integrates Solac’s cutting-edge steam technology in a new disruptive concept and experience in the treatment of your clothes, taking it to a higher level compared with conventional systems. ‘Lofty’ is designed to take care of all the garments in the home and do away with tough creases.

Its dual function allows you to remove everything from surface or medium creases with a remote steam flow to tougher ones through applying pressure and heat. It can be used on any door in the home, optimising an unused space without taking up habitable space.

Also, its configuration allows speedy use or storage to keep it in any wardrobe or shelf space. ‘Lofty’ offers the definitive solution, combining ironing power in a small space with all the control through a light control, making this task a more comfortable and streamlined experience.

Loft for a Jeweler

Redesign of an industrial space as a home, located in the old Lehmann Factory. The project aims to highlight the industrial characteristics of the space and combine them with a clear geometry that maximises the surface area.

The space contains, on the ground floor, a jewellery workshop, a day area comprised of a living/dining room and open-plan kitchen, and a green area to the rear in the new interior courtyard. The mezzanine is dominated by the piano, and in the private areas are the master bedroom, the guest bedroom and the study. Raw and honest materials such as iron, concrete and wood conceive a smooth and airy space, where pieces of furniture, works of art and unique lighting solutions are placed for each ambience, which, as they are treated like jewels, exalt the silversmithing spirit of each object.

Loft for a Writer

Emptying a space, understanding it as an empty box and that the atmosphere, the feeling and the ambience perceived there is the very life of the person living there. The sense of a loft taken to the most literal level.

Línia

Technical lighting system comprised of different modules that adapt to any interior space to meet all of its lighting needs. The basic concepts of universal geometry, modularity and standardisation use LED technology and advances in manufacturing to achieve the miniaturisation and adaptability of its components, so standing out from other similar products on the market.

Its versatility allows an infinite number of configurations to be designed and 3D architectures to be achieved through a simple installation, becoming the perfect tool for lighting project prescribers (lighting designers, interior designers, architects, etc.). The optimisation of its manufacturing process allows low costs and high product turnover. Both the blind modules (straights and curves) and the light modules (general and specific) are obtained from extruded aluminium templates and are joined together by injected plastic parts.

Lamborghini Huracán

Real-time digital modelling allows us to create a virtual project from the initial idea right through to production. With surface design, we can define the shape following the preset technical and aesthetic inputs, and at the same time we can represent the model at any time digitally with renders or animation, and also with a physical model, and finally we can produce the product.

This project was modelled using Dassault Systèmes ICEM Surf software under strict surface analysis methods such as construction method, symmetry analysis, brightness fluidity and perfect continuity.

The Lamborghini Huracán is a high-spec sports car produced by Italian maker Lamborghini and is the successor to the Gallardo model. The version represented is the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4.

The Huracán name is inspired by a Spanish fighting bull, similar to a number of other names of models by the make.

La Fábrica

‘La Fábrica’ (The Factory) was created in response to young people’s need for somewhere they could learn about, understand and experiment with their bodies and emotions. Teenage years, a time of change and constant search for identity, is the moment to explore and experiment. La Fábrica offers the group this opportunity, it teaches them how to verbalise and externalise all these emotions and also clearly sets out the dangers that our actions may encounter and allows them to interact and become actively involved in everything that occurs here. What happens to your brain during sex? This 100% experiential and interactive experience has been designed using different rooms and environments to show in a fun way that appeals to the senses what happens to our bodies during sex.

La Envolvente at Santa&Cole

The central offices of Santa & Cole are situated in a park covering over 130 hectares 30 km to the north of Barcelona. Surrounded by greenery, the interior is designed for creative minds devoted to publishing the design that can move. Previously, it was a school and the structure of the building provides the perfect balance between open spaces and individual offices or tranquil meeting areas. To create a more flowing transition between these spaces, we have created a linear wooden membrane on the horizontal axis, which rises vertically to the second floor, where we have double-height openings. This membrane has different functions: it organises, exhibits products, creates and divides spaces – but at all times allowing other rooms to be seen – absorbs doors, window displays, niches, shelves and storage. There is a showroom and a museum on the first floor that can be visited by clients, architects, designers and students. The design reflects the corporate identity in its simplicity.

The Mediterranean Embassy

The aim of the Damm Group is to transform the Old Estrella Damm Brewery into a centre of Barcelona and Catalan culture for the world. The brief was to create a relaunch proposal for the Old Estrella Damm Brewery as a multi-use Barcelona and Catalan arts centre. Following the values of the brand (spontaneity, freshness, fun, tradition, history and ownership), the Old Estrella Damm Brewery has become the Embassy of the United States of the Mediterranean and the aim is to create a single country where all the societies on the Mediterranean come together. A country in which to foster diversity and where the main weapon is integration.

Junkrad

‘Junkrad’ is a remote-controlled car aimed at children between 5 and 10 years of age. The project brief consisted of designing a 4WD radio-controlled car capable of overcoming any obstacle and that can climb stairs. There are currently RC cars that achieve this through complex processes, and they are rather slow and fragile. Researching children’s needs and tastes, we realised that they were looking for speed and found very technical tools boring. We designed ‘Junkrad’ with a bumper in the shape of a wedge so that when it bumped into a step, this was forced upwards and, using its central caterpillar track, it was able to move up the stairs, all without stopping from pressing on the accelerator. The materials chosen for the car must be resistant to shocks and falls, so the bumper is made from flexible PVC, which will stop it from breaking with strong impacts, and a more rigid ABS body to maintain its structural integrity.

Inside the Light

The project concerns an intervention in the offices of Santa&Cole, located in Belloch. First of all, we approached the project based on energy efficiency, economy, comfort and the rationalisation of spaces. Secondly, we were inspired by what Santa&Cole conveys: simplicity, warmth, balance and, of course, design.

With this in mind, we began by fitting the programme on a single floor, the ground floor. The central area houses the showroom, as well as spaces for meetings and for coming together. In the peripheral areas, we find the work spaces per se, including the cafeteria, conference room and individual offices.

As regards the first floor, we approached it as an open space, traversed by a structure made up of wooden panels and coloured strands, which would allow the hosting of all types of activities: relaxation, inspiration or, evidently, events. Sound accompanies us in this sensorama and generates sensations.

Implementation Project for Santa&Cole in Belloch

The series of planes inherited by the building’s architecture serves as inspiration to generate a series of spatial rhythms in the interior of the building. A new interior architecture is respectfully added to another pre-existing one.
The planes separate without compartmentalising, they are surfaces with materials that improve what already exists, bring it up to date and make it dynamic. They are ceiling, floor and wall, autonomous planes that float, slide and generate ambiences characterised by environmental rather than functional situations.

The simplicity of the planes allows the product to be highlighted, offering a framework in which to lay it out. In the end, an architecture is created that can be used on all scales and for all uses, from the interior space of offices to exhibition stands at trade fairs.

Heart Beat

The project consists of the creation of the concept and the art direction for a music tour in which Nick Cave and PJ Harvey will be performing a version of September Songs by Kurt Weill.
The principal idea that would give shape to our concept lies in the excerpt of a text created by Kurt Weill for The Threepenny Opera, which says:
“… Mankind is kept alive by bestial acts.”

This excerpt posits bestiality as a driving force that keeps humanity alive and in movement.

Understanding “bestiality” from a perspective close to Kurt Weill, we perceive society, and specifically the metropolis, as a macro-organism that develops and evolves by feeding on various acts of individual and group brutality, so generating a series of places that feed the pulse of this macro-organism and in turn become venues on our tour.

Fuck the Princess

The number of people infected with AIDS continues to rise and rapidly among young people. Advances in medicine and the feeling of invulnerability have made the disease practically fall off our radar.

European authorities, in collaboration with Durex and given the alarming figures affecting young people, have proposed our creating a campaign to fight infection. The research phase provided various clues: young people distrust large organisations to a certain extent. Education through fear has been proven not to solve the problem.

The project recommends tackling the problem indirectly. It does not want to run a typical campaign against AIDS, but it uses a friendly approach to encourage women (who are particularly at risk of AIDS, according to various studies) to take control via the campaign, fostering a healthy sex life.

Free Domain

Gender violence is currently a priority in social problems. A great number of communication campaigns have been rolled out to raise awareness in society. However, few capture the attention of teenagers. This happens because they believe that nothing like this will ever happen to them and, despite this, boys and girls alike adopt controlling and possessive behaviour in their dating relationships as they repeat generational stereotypes and consume a culture based on the myth of romantic love. The aim of this project is to run a more experience-based campaign through a gaming-style workshop where the target has been fundamental in the design of the experience. They will then have experienced it first-hand and understood the context through metaphors and role-play.

Study and analysis of trends of the workshop, Arrels Foundation

As a result of the donation of new premises for the La Troballa Workshop (Arrels Foundation), the challenge has arisen to generate a new operating structure capable of housing users, understanding the different realities that this involves.

The project consisted of identifying possible scenarios that would contribute to defining the operation of the workshop so that it meets the aim of providing occupation in such a way that is suitable to housing the different profiles present in the foundation.

The project was segmented in three stages: analysis of the workshop, study/analysis of cases/trends, and the link between these two. The relationship of the contents obtained allowed the construction of five scenarios and recommendations, which will act as a tool to define a workshop operation suitable for housing and providing occupation to the different user profiles identified.

El Olivar

El Olivar is a restoration project for the Tragaluz group, located in the Maldà arcade, in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, an area that receives high tourist and local resident flows and one with high commercial exposure. It comprises an architectural programme that seeks to integrate pure materials and olive trees, one of the principal ingredients of the cuisine and culture of this region, through a variety of spaces.

“Just as the branches of the olive tree spread and their fruit is born, so El Olivar is born of a new culinary experience, where architecture is part of every user’s journey, which enables them to discover the different spaces.”

Durex Park

The European Parliament, together with Durex, has commissioned a national campaign from us to reduce AIDS infection rates among teenagers between 13 and 16 in Spain.
• AIMS: to resolve misinformation and bad habits among teenagers between 13 and 16 regarding the prevention of AIDS and raise awareness about the use of condoms.
• PROBLEM: a lot of information to convey and a target audience whose attention is difficult to secure.
• SOLUTION: to convey the information through intense emotions and extreme experiences together with their friends in one whole day. How? Durex Park is the first theme park that could save your life. Where young people are in charge, they are free to go where they want and do what they want. With DUREX Park we have created a complete day to pass on and raise awareness about everything they need to know for preventing sexually transmitted diseases and, in particular, AIDS while they have fun and enjoy an unforgettable experience.

Cristal Palace

From analysis of the client, the area where the hotel is situated and the people who frequent it, we concluded that it would be appropriate to create a space that was related to culture, art and leisure. Based on this and on the hotel’s original name, Cristal Palace, a construction that allowed a visual continuity between interior and exterior and in which glass interacts in interesting ways with the sun, a mixed space was conceptualised: hotel + exhibitions and events gallery. It is designed in a way to be a tribute to its name, where the protagonists are transparencies, semi-transparencies and light. Glass, light and colour, their characteristics and different interactions, between themselves and with the human body, are used to produce sensations in each space.

Core – Santa & Cole

Redesign of the offices of the SANTA&COLE company, based on the very product that they commercialise. Hence the CÔRE project, which studies the way in which each of the brand’s products is created and the importance that is given to the functionality of them all. This way, the central concept that the brand’s products communicate and that is sought to be conveyed to the redesigned space is the ability to emote with the simple.

The project aims to imbue the space with different attributes, such as a domestic, flexible and unexpected atmosphere. The project centres on a space defined as VITALITY CORE, the focal point of the design and of the functionality represented in the form of a library. Branching out from this are a number of spaces, such as the “Quiet Zone”, the “Connect Zone” and the “Focus Zone”, each one designed according to the changing needs of the employees.
